Come Canvass with Us
One conversation at a time, we're shifting the tide in University-Rosedale.
Canvassing is one of the most powerful things you can do for this campaign. It's also one of the most fun! We hit the doors, talk to neighbours about what matters to them, and build real connections across University-Rosedale.
Team Yoon canvasses together multiple times a week. Come out once or make it a weekly habit β whatever works for your schedule. After you RSVP, we'll confirm the exact meet-up location and send everything you need to know.
Never canvassed before? No problem! Every canvass starts with a full training, and first-timers are always welcome.

Not sure what to expect from canvassing?
What is canvassing?
Canvassing is the main way we connect with voters. At every canvass, a group of volunteers goes door-to-door in one neighbourhood of University-Rosedale, talking to residents about the upcoming election, providing them with information about the campaign, and identifying who our supporters are so we can stay in touch with them until the election.
Does canvassing actually work?
Yes, and the research backs it up! Door-to-door canvassing is consistently shown to be one of the most effective forms of political outreach.
A real, face-to-face conversation with a neighbour is far more persuasive than an ad, a flyer, or a social media post. It moves votes, turns out supporters, and builds the kind of community connection that no algorithm can replicate. Every door matters.
What should I wear or bring with me?
Don't forget good walking shoes, a water bottle, and a charged phone to stay in touch. A small backpack or tote bag can also be helpful to carry materials. Depending on the weather, you may want to bring sunscreen or a jacket as well.
Dress casually and comfortably; there's no uniform or dress code. We'll provide all the campaign materials you need.
How will I know what to say at the door?
Don't worry β every canvass starts with a full training. We'll provide all canvass materials, including a script, flyers, and summary of the Yoon for Council platform.
No one is expected to be an expert in policy, city processes, or anything else. The role of volunteers is to show enthusiasm for the campaign and talk to your neighbours about why YOU support Diana Yoon!
Will I be canvassing alone?
Nope! We always canvass in pairs or small groups; it's more fun, more comfortable, and a great way to meet fellow volunteers.
Do I need to commit to a specific number of sessions?
Not at all! We know everyone's schedules are different and we're grateful for whatever time you can give. Just sign up for the dates that work for you: every shift makes a difference.
How long does a typical canvass last?
Most canvasses run two to three hours. Check the individual session page for exact timing. Training is included in that time, so just show up and we'll take care of the rest.
What if it rains?
We'll reach out ahead of time if bad weather is in the forecast. If it's looking grim, we'll typically move the canvass indoors...so don't let a grey sky stop you from signing up!
